| PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
The leaves have fallen, the air is cool, and Old Man Winter is beginning to make his presence known. The holidays are here, and it is time to enjoy family and friends as we prepare to close out the year. And speaking of family and friends, I would like to thank everyone who came out to this year’s silent auction and election night. It was a great success as over 80 members attended to show their support for a dear friend and family member to our industry, Lisa Terry. It was the biggest turn out we have ever had for that event, and everyone seemed to have a good time. I would also like to thank all of you that made such generous donations to such a worthy cause.
We have one more event before the year ends, and I hope we continue our streak with high attendance numbers. Our Holiday Gala will be held on Friday, December 7th at the NCR Country Club. It is sure to be an enjoyable evening with good food, good music and good company.
As we begin to prepare for 2008, the market seems to be moving in a direction that may spark some life into our business. Unfortunately, the purchase market remains sluggish, but the refinance opportunities should continue to improve. Like I have referenced throughout the year, the economy appears to be worsening. But as we all know, bad news in the economy generally translates into good news for our business. Don’t be unprepared. Be ready to take advantage of the situation should it come to fruition. You never know how long the opportunity will be there, so make hay while the sun is shining. And hopefully it will shine for a long while.
