PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Let me begin by thanking everyone who came out to Dayton Country Club for our general membership meeting last month. This was by far our highest attended meeting of the year so far. I thought that Joel Ghitman from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency did a great job speaking, and provided a lot of good information. It’s good to hear that the state of Ohio does such a good job in helping to make home ownership possible for many people that may not be as privileged as others.

It’s hard to believe that we are already in October, especially when the thermometer outside still reads above 90 degrees. And this means a couple of things to our organization. First of all, our fiscal year has come to a close. I hope we have lots of people that have qualified for our production award. I know that we had many members qualify by attending at least four meetings. Hopefully their loan volume was there as well. Secondly, we are in the process of voting on new board members. Please make sure that all of you managers get your ballot filled out and sent back to us, as Election Night is scheduled for Thursday, November 8th.

In regards to Election Night, we are combining it this year with our annual Affiliate Appreciation Night. Our goal is to increase attendance for both events by holding them together. The evening will include a silent auction in which the proceeds will be donated to the Lisa Terry Benefit Fund. Most of you have probably heard by now that Lisa was severely injured during a boating accident this past summer. She was hospitalized for several months, and has been fighting hard to make a safe recovery. Lisa has been a very active member of our organization that included her serving as our board secretary for several terms. I hope that we all can make time for this event and donate what we can to such a worthy cause.
