| Montgomery County Conveyance |

Beginning August 6, 2007 Montgomery County will increase its Conveyance tax from $2.00 per thousand to $3.00 per thousand. |

Neighborhood Gold Closed by IRS Compliance |

The Neighborhood Gold and Buyers Fund down payment assistance program will cease to provide down payment assistance as of July 3rd 2007. This announcement was sent out on an email where they claimed they were taking a voluntary step to comply with the IRS Revenue Ruling 2006-27 that ruled that providing seller funded down payment assistance was not a charitable activity. The IRS has now taking full efforts to revoke the 501c3 status of these nonprofits or have them comply by ceasing to provide down payment assistance. An alternative to the non-profit program is the Grant America Program which works the same way but does not give a gift from a non-profit but from a Government Entity. This program is not subject to IRS rule 2006-27. This program has already been approved by major lenders so you can start using it today.
