| PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
It’ hard to believe it’s July already. It seems that I was just complaining about winter, and now summer is almost half over. It’s been hot, but at least we’ve seen some rain lately which has started to green things up a bit. For a while there, Dayton was starting to resemble the desert.
I hope everyone enjoyed the annual golf outing. It was nice to see that even in a down year, we still had excellent participation for this popular event. There were 104 golfers this year, which actually topped the number that have played the past couple of years.
Kudos to the few of you who attended the Dragons’ game. It was a very entertaining game to watch as the home team scored 20 runs! We got to see several home runs hit, including a grand slam that almost made it’s way onto the party deck with us, had there not been a canopy over us that it hit instead. And another home run that nearly hit me in the head as I was returning from the men’s room, talking on my cell phone. Had I dropped the phone, I probably could have retrieved the ball. Instead, two young kids that were much faster than I, and with both hands free of cell phones, easily beat me to it. The weather was great though, and everyone seemed to have a good time.
One final note, our fiscal year is quickly coming to an end. For those of you fortunate enough to have closed enough loans to qualify for an award, remember you need to have attended four meetings during the year as well. There is only one meeting left to attend, which is a luncheon scheduled for September.
I hope everyone enjoys any the rest of the summer.
